Vol. 223 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin-Galway Road.

9.

asked the Minister for Local Government what plans, if any, his Department and the Galway County Council have for re-routing the main Dublin-Galway road in the area around Ballinasloe town; and if it is proposed to by-pass the town.

No such plans have been submitted to my Department for approval.

I understand that a draft provisional plan prepared for the purposes of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1963, for the town of Ballinasloe refers to the possibility of constructing a new thoroughfare through the town but this suggestion has not been adopted by the urban district council.
