Vol. 223 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Standard of Motor Tyre Tubes.

11.

asked the Minister for Local Government if there is at present a standard fixed for the manufacture of tubes for motor tyres; if so, what machinery exists for ensuring that tyres are manufactured up to this standard; if he is aware that there have been a number of complaints recently as to the quality of tyre tubes manufactured in this country; and if he will investigate the methods by which the quality of these tubes is controlled in manufacture.

No standard is fixed for the manufacture of tubes. I am not aware of any complaints regarding the quality of tubes manufactured in this country, but if the Deputy will let me have details, I will look into the matter.
