Vol. 223 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Roscrea Sanatorium.

28.

asked the Minister for Health when it is expected that St. Cronin's Sanatorium, Roscrea, County Tipperary will be converted and ready for use as a centre for severely mentally handicapped children.

Mr. O'Malley

I am not in a position at the moment to indicate when St. Cronin's Sanatorium, Roscrea, County Tipperary, will be converted and ready for use as a centre for severely mentally handicapped children. The health authority informed my Department last week that the plans now being prepared by them for electrical re-wiring and other structural alterations to the institution have reached an advanced stage and will be forwarded, together with an estimate of cost, at an early date for my approval. I can assure the Deputy there will be no undue delay in examining these proposals when they are received from the health authority.
