Vol. 223 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Glounthaune (Cork) School.

44.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of severe congestion in the boys and girls schools at Glounthaune, Cork, owing to the large increase in pupils attending the school; and that there will be a further large increase in pupils as the surrounding district is being rapidly built up; and if he will take steps to have a new school erected in the district at a convenient centre.

The information in my Department would not suggest that there is severe congestion in Glounthaune national school. I will, however, have investigations put in hands immediately as to the adequacy of the accommodation in the school and the necessity for providing a new school in the area, as suggested by the Deputy.
