asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce what proportion of total Irish industrial exports to Britain were handicapped by tariff quota or other restriction prior to 1st July 1966.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Restrictions on Industrial Exports.
43.
It is not possible to say precisely what proportion of total Irish industrial exports to Britain were subject to protective tariff, quota or other restriction, apart from the British Temporary Charge on Imports, prior to 1st July, 1966, as the figures are not so separated in our trade statistics. It was probably small, however, because of the effect of the restrictions. With their removal, a substantial increase in industrial exports should follow.
