Vol. 224 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Anti-Litter Fines.

38.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of anti-litter fines imposed since the inception of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1963; and if he is satisfied that the law is being enforced properly.

Statistics of the number of fines under section 52 of the Act are not kept in court offices and accordingly the information is not readily available. Dublin Corporation have taken steps to secure better enforcement of the section but I am not aware of any prosecutions in other areas.
