Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

39.

asked the Minister for Local Government the cause of the delay in having a water supply provided for the parishes of Castlemagner, Lisgriffin and Kilbrin, County Cork.

Preliminary proposals for the Newmarket-Knocknagree regional water supply scheme which will serve the areas to which the Deputy refers have been the subject of correspondence with the local authority and are still under examination in my Department.

When will the Department make a decision on this very important matter?

I could not tell the Deputy at the moment.

40.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is prepared to sanction a proposal by Mayo County Council to extend the Foxford, County Mayo water supply scheme to the Rinnaney tenants; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The proposal to extend the Foxford water supply to Rinnaney, together with a number of similar proposals, is still under consideration in my Department.

I am not yet in a position to say when a decision on the proposal will issue.

41.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received any proposals from Mayo County Council for the extension of the Swinford sewerage system to Kilbride cottages and to other local tenants.

There are no proposals before my Department for the extension of the Swinford sewerage system to Kilbride cottages or to other local tenants.

42.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is in a position to say when work will commence on the proposed sewerage scheme at Hill View, Cabinteely, County Dublin.

I have sanctioned a tender and approved of a loan to finance the work of providing sewerage services to the council cottages at Hill View, Cabinteely. I understand that Dublin County Council hope to commence work on the scheme shortly.

43.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he can state when the work of providing a new sewerage scheme for Newport, County Mayo will start.

There has been no change in the position in regard to this scheme since my reply to Question No. 9 on 28th September, 1966.
