Vol. 224 No. 10

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Corrib-Mask Drainage.

9.

asked the Minister for Finance when he expects work will start on the Corrib-Mask drainage scheme.

The drainage scheme for the Corrib-Head-ford area has recently been exhibited in accordance with the Act but the period for receipt of observations has not yet expired. If all goes well, it is hoped to start work in the spring of next year.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary like to offer an opinion as to whether or not the present credit restrictions are likely to delay the start of the proposed scheme?

It is plain that the Deputy was not listening to my reply. I said that if all goes well, it is hoped to start work in the spring of next year.

It is also plain that the Parliamentary Secretary was not listening to my question, or else he is a little duller than usual. That is possible. Would the Parliamentary Secretary like to say whether or not the credit restrictions are one of the reasons why this and other schemes are not being started?

That is a completely different question. If the Deputy wants information, he can put down a question.

I will put down a question.
