asked the Minister for Social Welfare the amount of (a) the employers' contribution and (b) the employees' contribution through social security stamps in each of the years ended 31st March 1956-66 inclusive.

Rates of employment contributions were increased at the beginning of September, 1956 and at the beginning of January in each of the years, 1961, 1963, 1964 and 1966.

The remuneration limit for insurability in the case of non-manual employment was raised on 29th December, 1958, from £600 to £800 per annum and on 6th September, 1965, from £800 to £1,200 per annum.
