Vol. 224 No. 10

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Portlaoise Hospital Boiler.

46.

asked the Minister for Health if he will give immediate sanction to the proposal from Laois County Council to install a new boiler at the County Hospital in Portlaoise; and if he is aware of the urgency of this proposal.

Proposals for the building of a new boilerhouse and the installation of two new boilers were received in my Department on 19th September and these have been examined. While it is agreed in principle that new boilers are required, a number of technical points require to be resolved before a final decision can be given. Arrangements have been made for an early meeting with the technical advisers and other officers of the council to consider these matters further.
