Vol. 225 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

53.

asked the Minister for Local Government what the present position is concerning the provision of a piped water supply for a number of residents in Termon, County Donegal from the existing Lough Salt-Letter-kenny water mains.

I understand that tenders for this scheme have recently been accepted by the group and that work on the erection of the reservoir can now commence.

54.

asked the Minister for Local Government what are the reasons for the delay in issuing approval of the contract documents for the Pettigo, County Donegal sewerage scheme, which were submitted to him on 11th May 1966.

Contract documents for the Pettigo sewerage scheme are still under examination in my Department. I am not in a position to say when approval thereto is likely to issue.

55.

asked the Minister for Local Government if money is available for carrying out a sewerage scheme at Ballisodare, County Sligo, which was sanctioned by his Department on 14th April, 1965; and, if so, why work has not started, or why tenders have not been invited.

As I indicated in my reply to the Deputy's previous question on the 18th ultimo, Sligo County Council were notified on 14th April, 1965 that this scheme was technically in order. It has been open to the local authority since that date to advertise the scheme for tender. Until such time as tenders have been submitted to my Department for approval the question of making capital available cannot arise.
