Vol. 225 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Delivery of Free Fuel.

59.

Mr. O'Leary

asked the Minister for Social Welfare whether he is aware that many old people who are beneficiaries of the free fuel scheme are unable to have the fuel transported to their homes without incurring further expense; and whether he will consider the feasibility of delivery of such fuel to recipients' homes.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply which I gave to a similar question on 17th November, 1965.

Mr. O'Leary

Has the Minister changed his attitude since the last time a question was asked regarding this matter?

The reply is still the same.

Mr. O'Leary

The Minister still refuses to do anything with regard to having fuel delivered to those old people who are unable to collect it?

The question of delivery or non-delivery is a matter for the local authorities concerned.
