Vol. 225 No. 1

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take No. 1 and No. 13—Votes 41 and 50. Private Members' Business will be taken from 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. when Motion No. 22 will be resumed. I should remind Deputies that the Divisions with regard to Vote 42 and Motion No. 14 will be taken at 10.15 p.m. this evening.

May I inquire why a question of mine for reply by the Taoiseach today was not allowed?

A communication was addressed to the Deputy and I have nothing further to add to that communication.

With all due respect, Sir, I think——

The Deputy may think anything he likes. I have given him my decision. He can challenge that decision any way he likes.

Will the Taoiseach not——

I have no intention of allowing the Deputy to achieve his object in this way.

Let the Deputy put down a motion and it will be discussed in about two years' time.

It was a question addressed to the Taoiseach, asking him——

The Deputy should not try in this way to ask a question which was ruled out of order.

I cannot understand your ruling.

That is not my fault.

May I inquire whether I should have addressed it to the outgoing Taoiseach or to the incoming Taoiseach?

(Interruptions.)
