asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will consider making a regulation whereby school-going children up to 18 years will qualify as dependants under the Social Welfare Acts in the same way as they do under the income tax code.

Legislation would be necessary to implement the Deputy's proposal and the introduction of such legislation is not contemplated at present.
