Mr. O'Leary

asked the Minister for Health the number of TB cases reported in Dublin city area over the past 12 months; the number of new cases; the number of cases in each age group; and if the figures show any increase in certain age groups.

The most recent 12-month period for which figures are available regarding the number of tuberculosis cases reported in the Dublin County Borough area is that ending on 31 December last. The total number of cases reported in the area in that period was 501, of which 474 were new cases. The age distribution of the cases reported in the period, and for comparison purposes in the period ended 31 December, 1964, when the total number of cases reported was 646, is set out in a tabular statement which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report.
