Vol. 225 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Irish Troops in Cyprus.

96.

Mr. O'Leary

asked the Minister for Defence why Irish troops are not flown to Cyprus by Aer Lingus; and why Irish food products are not delivered to Irish soldiers serving there.

The transport of Irish troops to and from Cyprus and the rationing of Irish troops serving there are the sole responsibility of the United Nations and that body makes all the arrangements to provide these services.
