Vol. 225 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Icecream Vans.

118.

Mr. O'Leary

asked the Minister for Justice whether any legislation is contemplated to prevent icecream vans, which visit housing estates from morning to night, from creating a nuisance with their loud chimes.

I understand that a consultative case stated is to be dealt with shortly by the High Court arising out of charges preferred by the Garda against the driver and owners of one of these vans and the question of the need for legislation can be considered when the judgment of the court is given.
