19.

asked the Minister for Finance what winter or Christmas relief grants will be made available this year to Dublin County Council for the Rathdown area; and if he will give details of the work proposed.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to answer Questions Nos. 18 and 19 together.

A grant of £2,500, subject to a local contribution of £625, making a total of £3,125, has been allocated to Dún Laoghaire for employment schemes in the Borough for the 1966-67 winter period. Details of the work proposed have not yet been received from the corporation.

It has not been possible this year to give any grants to Dublin County Council for the Rathdown area.

Could the Parliamentary Secretary say what relief grants have been provided for other county council areas?

No, but I understand Dublin County Council will make provision for that.
