Vol. 226 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Grant.

16.

asked the Minister for Local Government the date on which a person (name supplied) applied for a new housing grant allocation; and why it has not been allocated.

An application for a new house grant was received from this applicant on 12th August, 1965. A grant has not so far been allocated in this case because the plans indicated that a fully serviced house was not being provided. Unserviced houses are not normally accepted for grant purposes except in circumstances where it is established that sewerage and water cannot reasonably be provided. It is understood that the house has been completed and I have arranged for an early inspection so that the grant position can be further examined.

Should he not have been told this before?

He was told it in October, 1965. His application was made on 12th August, 1965.

I thought it was made on 12th August of this year.

It was made on 12th August, 1965.

It is 12 years older than I thought it was.

Twelve months, over 12 months.
