Vol. 226 No. 6

Income Tax Bill, 1966: Order for Report and Fifth Stages.

I move:

That, notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in Standing Orders, in the case of the Income Tax Bill, 1966—

(a) Report Stage be taken on Wednesday, 15th February, 1967, and

(b) Fifth Stage be taken immediately after the conclusion of the proceedings on Report Stage.

This is a motion to shorten the time for the Report and Fifth Stages of the Consolidation Bill which arises out of the Report which Deputy Sweetman moved a few minutes ago. As Easter is coming very early this year and as there is general agreement that it would be helpful if the Bill were law by 6th April, it is necessary in order that it may become law to have these two Stages shortened in regard to this Bill.

Question put and agreed to.
