Vol. 226 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Housing.

33.

asked the Minister for Local Government what steps Dublin County Council are taking to provide necessary housing in the area of Naul, County Dublin and in the adjacent rural areas.

I understand that Dublin County Council are negotiating for the acquisition of a site for up to 30 houses at Naul. They already own a site at Ballyboughill which will accommodate up to 16 houses. At a recent conference arranged by me between officers of the council and of my Department, it was agreed that early consideration should be given to the provision of a number of potentially serviceable cottages in each of these areas pending the availability of full services. The council also have proposals for the provision of two cottages on sites at Damastown and Curragh West, Naul, at an advanced planning stage.

Has the Minister any idea when services might become available here?

Sin ceist eile.

Could the Minister give me any idea when they might become available?

That is another question.

I thought the Minister was familiar with his own constituency?

I know the houses are going to be built there.
