Vol. 226 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Sligo Pilot Area.

15.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if the pilot area at Gurteen, County Sligo is being extended; and, if so, what other areas are being included.

I hope to be able to make an announcement very soon about the future of the Pilot Area Development Programme.

Could the Minister tell us whether maps of pilot areas are accessible to Deputies in the Library or elsewhere? Can anyone find out what area is covered by a pilot area?

Yes; I should imagine my own Department would have that because we do operate within certain confines so we obviously must know where they are. Whether there is a map just ready-made which we can hand out, I do not know but we can get such.

Perhaps the Minister would consider, if such maps exist in the Department, having copies of them deposited in the Library for the convenience of Deputies.

Whether they exist or not, I promise the Deputy I will get them and have them.

Whether they exist or not?

I will create them.

That would be no trouble to you.

No bother.

I just want to see what areas pilot areas are.
