Vol. 226 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Replacement of Federated Dublin Hospitals.

112.

asked the Minister for Health the present position regarding the building of a major hospital to replace some of the small and outdated units in the federated Dublin voluntary hospitals; and when work on the project will commence.

With my agreement, the federated Dublin voluntary hospitals have appointed a project team to report on the existing hospitals of the federation, on the site proposed for the new hospital and on the extent of the facilities to be provided in the new buildings. I understand that the report on this study, with the views of the federation, will be available fairly soon. Until these have been studied and decisions taken on the scale of the new undertaking, it would not be possible to estimate when work on the project could commence.
