Vol. 228 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Recommendations of Wool Committee.

7.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he intends to implement the recommendations of the Committee on Wool Improvements set up in 1963; and, if so, when.

The necessary legislation to implement the recommendations of the committee will be introduced as soon as possible.

Could the Parliamentary Secretary say if it is the intention when introducing this legislation to make provision for representation for the National Committee of Combined Associations of Mountain Sheep Breeders? That is a big one. I know they have already been with the Minister.

The Committee will represent the farmers, the wool buyers and the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries. Therefore, I presume the organisation to which the Deputy refers will, as farmers, be represented.
