asked the Minister for Local Government when his Department will have figures of the amount which each local authority spent last year on purchasing books for public libraries.

16.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state, in respect of each local authority, the amount spent in the last year for which figures are available on purchasing books for public libraries.

I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 15 and 16 together, and, as the information is in the form of a tabular statement, to circulate it with the Official Report. Particulars of the amount spent by library authorities on the purchase of books in 1966-67, will not be available for some months.
