Vol. 228 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Car Parking Payments.

18.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware that, in many instances in Dublin recently, American tourists have been faced with demands for payment of a dollar by certain car park attendants; and whether he will take steps to ensure that this gross abuse is stopped.

I am not so aware and the Garda have received no complaints on this score. There is, of course, no obligation under the law as it stands on members of the public to pay any particular gratuity to car park attendants.
