Vol. 228 No. 13

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 10 and 14—Vote 37—on the Order Paper. If not already reached, it is proposed to interrupt business at 7 p.m. to take No. 14, Vote 37.

Could the Taoiseach say when it is proposed to have a debate on our application for entry to the Common Market?

I cannot say at this stage. I had hoped to have got the visits to the capitals over before the debate. I hope that after this week's meeting in Rome, it might be possible to give some information about when all these visits will take place.

Does the Taoiseach not know the time yet?

Have any of these visits been arranged yet?

One is tentatively arranged. It will take place perhaps after the meeting in Rome.

Does the Taoiseach expect to take the lot in a week?

Would the Taoiseach say if it will be in the nature of an Adjournment Debate?

If it is possible on the Adjournment, I think that would be the best way to do it.

I do not think that we should tie up the EEC with the other things.

That would embrace everything.

It depends on when the Taoiseach will announce his itinerary. Does he think he will announce his itinerary next Tuesday?

I may announce a part of it.

I think the first journey will be through the labyrinth of de Gaulle's mind.
