Vol. 229 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Public Investment in Company.

40.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce what are the prospects of recovering £750,000 of public money invested in a firm (name supplied) based on the latest figures for debtors, creditors and stock available; and what steps he intends to take in the matter.

Mr. O'Malley

I am informed that the company, which had been operating at a loss, is now making a profit. It remains to be seen to what extent future profits will offset past losses.

I understand that the amount of money received by the company through State agencies is substantially less than the figure mentioned in the question.
