With your permission, a Leas-Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 18, 19, 20 and 21 together.

The Land Commission have interested themselves in these properties which comprise 24 acres, 21 acres, 151 acres and 22 acres, respectively. Inquiries are being carried out with the consent of the owners but it is not possible to forecast just now what the outcome will be.

Possession of both of these properties containing 35 acres and 213 acres respectively has passed to the Land Commission. Pending completion of the necessary inquiries on the ground, I am unable to forecast just now when schemes of division can be planned.

24.

25.

asked the Minister for Lands the position regarding the Farrell Estate, Tobinstown, Ballymoe, County Galway.

With your permission, a Leas-Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 24 and 25 together.

The position regarding the estates of Hurley and Farrell in the townlands of Corlackan and Tobinstown near Ballymoe is as stated in my reply to a previous question on 17th November, 1966.

The Land Commission have reached agreement with the owner—a Mr. Hurley—for the purchase of a 30 acre holding in another townland of Corlackan near Creggs and possession will be taken as soon as the owner's title has been cleared.

26.

asked the Minister for Lands the position regarding the Tully Estate, Milltown, County Galway.

27.

asked the Minister for Lands the position regarding the Gallagher Estate, Milltown, County Galway.

28.

asked the Minisster for Lands the position regarding the Tierney Estate, Ballinlough, Milltown, County Galway.

With your permission, a Leas-Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 26, 27 and 28 together.

The holdings of Michael Tully (17 acres in the townland of Kinnakinelly), Michael and Monica Gallagher (49 acres in the townland of Stripe North) and William Tierney (40 acres in the townland of Belmont) were surrendered to the Land Commission in exchange for new holdings. It is not possible to state when the lands will be divided but the necessary local inquiries preliminary to allotment are being pushed forward as rapidly as circumstances permit.

I might add that an attempt was made last Spring to have the Tully holding utilised to facilitate the rearrangement of a number of fragmented holdings in the townland of Kinnakinelly but the necessary co-operation was not forthcoming from all the tenants. A further effort to formulate re-arrangement proposals will be undertaken later in the year.

29.

asked the Minister for Lands the position regarding the Toole Estate, Conagher, Milltown, County Galway.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of this property.
