Vol. 230 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sligo Postal Deliveries.

30.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that important letters addressed to Sligo and posted before 6 p.m. in Dublin are not being transmitted to Sligo in time for the first delivery in that town; and that this causes trouble to the people concerned as the letters arrive by the afternoon delivery; and if he will take steps to remedy this situation.

I am aware that some delays of the kind referred to occurred. They were due to pressure in Dublin resulting from heavy traffic and temporary difficulties which are gradually being eliminated. I understand the service in question is now normal.
