At present, a total of 40 prospecting licences, covering approximately 450 square miles, are valid in respect of areas in County Mayo. I have approved the grant of a further 19 licences, and applications for another 19 are at present being processed in my Department.
Information given to me about the results of prospecting cannot be revealed without the consent of the prospectors.
