Vol. 230 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Priority.

40.

asked the Minister for Local Government the reasons for the long delay on the part of the Dublin City Medical Officer's Department in determining the priority classification for housing accommodation of an applicant who is a TB sufferer (particulars supplied).

I understand from Dublin Corporation that the delay in this case arose because a request for a certificate which issued from their Housing Allocations Branch last June to the Chest Clinic was not received by the latter. The Corporation hope to reach a decision on this application shortly.

Has the necessary certificate been supplied now?

Yes. It was received on 18th October.

Does it indicate that this is in fact the case as described?

The contents of these medical certificates are regarded by the Corporation as confidential.

I know that. I am not asking the Minister to announce the man's name and condition but just for information for a man who is awaiting a house?

I do not know.
