Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballyfermot (Dublin) Garda Station.

98.

asked the Minister for Justice the present position in relation to the provision of a Garda station at Ballyfermot, Dublin.

99.

asked the Minister for Justice what is the up-to-date position regarding the provision of a Garda station in Ballyfermot, Dublin.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 98 and 99 together.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Finance has informed me that working drawings for the new station at Ballyfermot are being prepared and it is hoped to invite tenders for the station about the end of the present financial year.

The end of the present financial year is several months away. This proposal has been under consideration for a very long time. Will the Minister take whatever steps are open to him to expedite this work?

Yes; it is reaching finality now, as the answer to the question shows.
