Application for sanction to the raising of a loan of £16,000 to finance land acquisition and the first stage of an amenity development at Mount Merrion was received in my Department on 12 Aibreán, 1966. Application for a further loan of £28,000 was received on 21 Márta, 1967.
The technical aspects of the general scheme of amenity development have been the subject of correspondence with the council. These have now been agreed except for certain minor items. My Department is in communication with the council regarding the source from which they propose to borrow for these works.
