Vol. 231 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions (Resumed). - Aid for Pig Co-operative Society.

9.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries what action he proposes to take with regard to the request of the Portumna Pig Co-operative Society for Government aid.

Apart from the normal grants payable under the Farm Buildings Scheme, I have no funds at my disposal from which a grant could be made in respect of a pig fattening unit. The East Galway Co-operative Society, Portumna, has applied for a loan to the Agricultural Credit Corporation and the question of a State guarantee for this loan is at present under examination in my Department.
