Vol. 231 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions (Resumed). - Redundant Estate Employees.

50.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that owing to the acquisition of the Lisadell estate by the Land Commission the employees on this estate may be redundant; and if suitable compensation will be offered to them.

Proceedings for voluntary purchase of the major portion of this property have not yet concluded. Should there be a successful outcome, then, in accordance with settled practice, the Land Commission will, in due course, give careful consideration to the position of any persons who may become displaced from employment.
