Vol. 231 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions (Resumed). - County Donegal School Closure.

111.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the unrest among parents in the Mullaghduff district of Kincasslagh, County Donegal at the proposal that Mullaghduff national school should be closed; and if he will give an assurance that this school will not be closed without first consulting these parents.

The Mullaghduff school is in a very poor state of repair and the question of its amalgamation with a neighbouring school is being investigated. An inspector of my Department attended a meeting of parents of the Mullaghduff and Carrickfin areas within the past week to discuss the matter. The views expressed at that meeting will be taken into consideration before further official action is taken in this case.
