Vol. 231 No. 11

Ceistenna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Housing Density.

19.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will consider permitting Dublin Corporation to increase the density of houses per acre as a means of reducing housing costs.

I have received no proposal from Dublin Corporation involving an increase in the general standards of density which are approved at present by my Department. I will be prepared to give full consideration to any such proposal in relation to specific schemes, provided that, in doing so, they have due regard to overall planning policies and objectives.
