Vol. 232 No. 4

Written Answers. - Voyages by Cargo Vessels.

46.

asked the Taoiseach the total number of voyages with cargo between ports inside the State in the years 1966 and 1967; and the number of these undertaken by Irish registered ships.

The number of arrivals of vessels with cargo which arrived at ports in Ireland from other ports in Ireland in the year 1966 was 394. Of these 115 were Irish registered vessels. These figures do not cover arrivals of vessels at ports within the State from other ports in the State which have on board cargo shipped in the State for discharge outside the State or passengers for or from a port outside the State. Corresponding figures for 1967 are not available.

The relevant figures available for the year 1967 relate to arrivals with and without cargo taken together. The total number of such arrivals was 1,275 and 212 of these were Irish registered vessels. In 1966 the corresponding figures were 970 and 279 respectively.
