asked the Minister for Education whether he has approved of proposals to create positions of assistant headmasters in vocational schools in County Kerry in order to provide better educational facilities for the pupils; and whether these positions are to be filled by vote of the local vocational education committee or by the Local Appointments Commission.

I have approved of the creation of positions of assistant headmasters in larger vocational schools generally, including those in County Kerry, in order to provide better educational facilities for the pupils. The positions are to be filled by vote of the local vocational education committee.
