Nomination of Member of Government.

Go gcomhaontóidh Dáil Éireann leis an Taoiseach d'ainmniú an Teachta Pádraig Ó Fachtna chun a cheaptha ag an Uachtarán chun bheith ina chomhalta den Rialtas.
I move:
That Dáil Éireann approve the nomination by the Taoiseach of Deputy Pádraig Faulkner for appointment by the President to be a member of the Government.
I may say, for the information of the House, that I propose, if this Motion is approved, to take the following steps with effect from tomorrow:
to terminate the assignment of the Department of Education to myself and to assign that Department to Deputy Brian Joseph Lenihan;
to terminate the asignment of the Department of Justice to Deputy Lenihan and to assign that Department to Deputy Michael Moran; and
to terminate the assignment of the Department of Lands and the Department of the Gaeltacht to Deputy Moran and to assign those Departments to Deputy Faulkner.
