Vol. 233 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Telephone Kiosks.

2.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the telephone kiosk in the Athenry Road-Tubberjarlath area of Tuam, County Galway will be provided; and if he will consider the request for the provision of another telephone kiosk at Tullinadaly Road, Tuam, made by Tuam Town Commissioners.

A kiosk for the Athenry Road-Tubberjarlath area has been included in this year's programme. A kiosk is not warranted at Tullinadaly Road.

Could the Minister tell me when the decision was made to supply a telephone kiosk at Athenry Road?

I am afraid I have not got the exact date. It is part of a programme arranged over a period for subsequent years.

I should like to point out that I got a letter from the Minister last week—or from his office, at least—stating that a telephone kiosk was being erected and I want to point out that this is just an opportune question by the Deputy.

I got the same request from the Tuam Town Commissioners as Deputy Donnellan got but he was too slow to put it down.

The old dog for the hard road.

3.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will consider having a telephone kiosk and letter box erected at Maddenstown North, Curragh Camp, County Kildare.

A letter box is being provided at Maddenstown. A telephone kiosk is not warranted.
