Vol. 233 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway River Maintenance.

53.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware of the growing concern in Galway at the lack of maintenance work on the section of the river from Lough Corrib to the weir at Woodquay, Galway; and, if so, if he proposes to take any action in this matter.

I have been advised that the channel from Lough Corrib to Woodquay is in good condition free from silt and weeds and provides an adequate outfall for the drainage scheme. It will be kept under observation and if any maintenance works become necessary they will be carried out.
