It is not the practice of housing authorities to provide permanent accommodation in special separate schemes for persons who are removed from chalets or other temporary accommodation. Their housing requirements are met within the general housing programmes and permanent dwellings are let to them on the basis of the normal statutory priorities having regard to the recommendations of the Chief Medical Officer. It is understood that the length of occupancy of emergency accommodation is also taken into consideration.
