Vol. 233 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Electoral Act Appeals.

10.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that difficulty is occasioned to members of the public and to the local authorities by reason of the absence of regulations concerning the method, regulation, conduct and setting down of appeals to the courts from decisions on claims or objections considered under the provisions of the Electoral Act, 1963; and if he intends to make such regulations.

I have no power to make regulations governing the matters referred to by the Deputy. If any provision relating to such matters is necessary, it would be appropriate for inclusion in rules of court made by the appropriate rule-making authority with the concurrence of the Minister for Justice.
