asked the Minister for Health (a) the number of beds in St. Kevin's Hospital, Dublin, (b) the average length of bed occupancy, and (c) the number of beds reserved for geriatric cases.

The reply is as follows:—(a) there is a total of 1,286 beds in St. Kevin's Hospital; (b) the average duration of stay of all patients for 1967 was 43.5 days; and (c) 286 beds are reserved for geriatric patients but the number of beds occupied by such patients is normally greater than this. At present, about 700 beds are occupied by geriatric patients.
