Vol. 234 No. 1

Committee on Finance. - Motor Vehicles (Registration of Importers) Bill, 1967: Committee and Final Stages.

Sections 1 to 9, inclusive, agreed to.
SECTION 10.
Question proposed: "That section 10 stand part of the Bill."

When does the Minister contemplate the Bill coming into effect?

In about six weeks or two months. Might I say, lest there be any misunderstanding, we have been, in fact, operating a scheme already. We have another Act under which we can impose import duties, but there are some loose ends in it that do not come under this temporary arrangement. However, it would be hoped that the Bill would be operating in about six weeks or two months.

Question put and agreed to.
Section 11 agreed to.
Title agreed to.
Bill reported without amendment, received for final consideration and passed.
