During the three years ended on 31st March, 1968, 42 applications were received by An Bord Iascaigh Mhara from Co. Galway fishermen for financial assistance in the purchase of lobster boats. Twenty-two of these applications have been approved, five are still under consideration, eight were rejected and the remaining seven were withdrawn by the applicants themselves.
