asked the Minister for Justice the means by which the boundaries of the Dublin metropolitan police area are determined; and what non-urban and non-suburban areas are at present included in this police area.

The boundaries of the Dublin Metropolitan Area of the Garda Síochána are determined by the Minister for Justice under section 6 of the Garda Síochána Act, 1924.
The territory included in the metropolitan area as determined at present is as follows:—
(1) The County Borough of Dublin.
(2) The Borough of Dún Laoghaire.
(3) The portion of the following Garda sub-districts in the County Dublin: Coolock, Santry, Finglas, Cabra, Chapelizod, Crumlin, Terenure, Rathfarnham and Lucan.
(4) That portion of Lucan subdistrict which is in County Kildare.
(5) The whole of the following Garda sub-districts, in the County Dublin: Malahide, Swords, Blanchardstown, Clondalkin, Tallaght, Dundrum, Stepaside, Cabinteely and Shankill; and
(6) The Garda sub-districts of Bray and Enniskerry in County Wicklow.
