Road improvement grants amounting to £235,420 and £164,000 respectively have been notified this year to Roscommon and Leitrim County Councils. Both councils will also receive the usual main road upkeep grant representing 50 per cent of approved expenditure on the maintenance of their main roads; the amounts of the allocations under this heading cannot be given pending receipt and examination of details of the provisions being made by the councils for this purpose.
